The Roxy & Rich Hybrid Lustre Dust offers brilliant colour and a supreme shine that is in a class all of its own.

The Hybrid Lustre range is fully edible and can be used to gain a perfect, shiny finish on any decoration, whether it is edible or non-edible. Uniquely formulated using a thin layer of food colouring and mica particles, the Roxy & Rich Hybrid Lustre Dusts are sure to outshine the competition.

The lustres provide great coverage unlike some others available that can leave small spots of the original colour showing through.  The dusts are also more intense than the competition, allowing you to get the deepest hues and the most vibrant shades with a superior lustre shine.

PLEASE NOTE: Colours may appear different in the pot than how they apply. This is perfectly normal. We advise testing a swatch so you can see what the final results will be. To get the most vibrant colours, we advise mixing with alcohol, lemon extract or rejuvenator spirit to make a paint.

Normally if you want to add a lustre finish to a decoration, the base colour would be similar, for example adding a green lustre finish to leaves that are already made from green florist paste. The Hybrid Lustres are so good that they will cover a decoration perfectly, even if the decoration’s base colour is white. There is no need to make your decoration a similar colour as the lustre.

Another great feature is colouring pearls. If you have white pearls that you want to colour, simply wet the pearls with a little water, place them into a bag with a small sprinkling of the lustre dust, and roll them in the bag until they are covered. Just like larger cake decorations you’ll get great coverage and won’t have to buy pearls in all different colours.

The Hybrid Lustres are incredibly simple to use and can be dry brushed on, or mixed with alcohol, lemon extract or rejuvenator spirit to form an edible paint. You can also mix it with piping gel for the added colour and shine as well as sugar water to form an airbrush colour, although we strongly advise cleaning your airbrush thoroughly before and after doing this.

These lustres can even be used on chocolate as well as the usual decorating mediums such as fondant/sugarpaste, modelling paste, marzipan and florist paste.
