No need to dowel your cakes, with the PME Spiked Pillars, you can simply push them into your cake and you are ready to stack your tiers.
The pillars are of an extremely high quality, as with all PME products, made from durable food grade plastic and will hold substantial weight, including tiered cakes. For heavier cakes i.e. fruit cakes, you may require a few extra pillars for best support.
The PME pillars come in a unique clear design. Unlike the Grecian style that can be a bit old fashioned, these offer a modern design that is great for contemporary wedding cakes that have to be on the cutting edge of fashion.
Not only do they look great, they are also incredibly simple to use. Unlike dowels that you have to cut to size, which can sometimes to be tricky to get them all cut straight and level, the pillars come ready cut, so all you have to do is push them into your cake until the bottoms touch the board below and you are ready to stack your next tier on top.
The Pillars will add to the overall look and style of your cake, lifting your next tier above the one below which you can then fill the space with sugar flowers or simply have the pillars showing for a more minimal look.
