THE CAKE DECORATING CO. - Meri-White Meringue Powder
Using Meri White as a Pure Albumen has a few advantages, the Royal icing has a whiter appearance, perfectly smooth and cheaper.
Can be used in many aspects of cake decorating: coating, piping, palette knife painting, letter piping, cookie decorating etc.
Meri White Royal Icing Recipe:
- Sprinkle 75g (3oz) MERI-WHITE into a grease-free jug.
- Add 500ml of cold water and whisk briskly until the powder is fully dissolved.
- Pour some of the MERI-WHITE into a grease-free bowl attached to a mixing machine fitted with a beater.
- Gradually add 3kg (7lb) of icing sugar (a.k.a confectioners / powdered sugar) and mix until the Royal Icing consistency you require is obtained.
- Royal Icing for coating and piping can take up to 10 minutes to mix, depending on the consistency you require
Ingredients:
WHEAT starch; dried EGG albumen; sugar; starch; acidity regulators: calcium lactate, tartaric acid, cream of tartar, lactic acid; dextrose; stabiliser: guar gum.
